Iron Horseshoe

Iron Horseshoe – Guardian of Thresholds

Iron has a millennia long history of being a weapon and ward against malevolent fae, restless dead, and demonic entities. Horseshoes specifically were used in the time when iron tools were expensive. A horseshoe no longer good for the horse, was still valuable as a ward to keep the home safe.

Placement Protocol Mount above any exterior door, window, or gate with the open ends facing upward to form a conduit that traps and neutralizes intruding forces. The curved arch becomes an unbreakable seal; malevolent energies are deflected, bound, or forcibly returned to their origin. For amplified effect, drive three iron nails through the shoe into the lintel—each strike reinforcing the barrier.

Warning Do not remove once installed; breaking the iron seal risks immediate re-entry of any banished presence. If the shoe falls, re-hang within one lunar cycle using the original nails. For homes with known hauntings, bury a second horseshoe beneath the front step, points down, to anchor the threshold from below.

This is not decoration. It is a functional ward.
